A billboard can give your business a real lift, making your brand more visible and more credible across Spain.

Billboard locations available across Spain

Businesses advertise on billboards mainly where traffic is heavy: on the way in and out of towns and industrial estates. Sites next to stop signs and traffic lights work well too: cars pull up and sit in front of the panel for several seconds, which makes the ad work harder.

Behind the wheel, attention goes to one task only: what is on the road ahead. The impact is guaranteed. Few formats get seen and remembered as much.

Our billboards cover almost every part of Spain. Here are some of our standout locations:

Why advertise on roadside billboards

Sheer size makes a large-format billboard hard to ignore. And because it is usually well placed, it is highly visible.

  • Eye-catching visual advertising with 24/7 visibility in high-traffic areas.
  • Well-placed sites on main roads and on the way in and out of town.
  • Greater brand awareness and trust.
  • Flexibility for long-running campaigns, with plenty of sizes to choose from.
  • A non-intrusive format that, alongside social media campaigns, helps your message stick.

Also worth a look: if you want a big ad inside the city, not just on the approach roads, a vinyl-wrapped bus carries it through the centre and out into the neighbourhoods. It is all explained on the page about bus advertising (in Spanish).

Billboard guide prices

Billboard prices depend on the city, the exact spot (how much traffic goes past), how many billboards you book and your dates. Billboards are booked in 2-week periods. Rental starts at €78 per billboard per week, in other words €156 per period; in the busiest locations it goes up to €300 a week. The table shows real examples of budget networks in each city. There is no minimum order: you can also book single billboards.

Network prices are a guide. They include printing and posting the posters on top of renting the billboards. Ask us and we will break down each part of the price for your campaign.

Each city has a guide price, listed under locations (in Spanish); drop us a line for the exact figure. Every line of that figure is explained in our guide to what a billboard costs (in Spanish).

Billboard sizes

The standard billboard measures 8 metres wide by 3 metres high. But no other format comes in so many variations. Two panels are often joined to make an 8x6 m or a 16x3; other panels are portrait (3 wide by 8 high) or half-size (4x3)… At these sizes, the ad can be read clearly from more than 100 metres away in many cases. 8 × 3 m digital billboards (in Spanish) have their own page, with weekly prices.

You can download our guide to getting large-format artwork, billboards included, ready for print (PDF in Spanish). Our blog also explains how to prepare your artwork for print (in Spanish).

Roadside billboards: frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to advertise on a billboard?

Location, campaign length and the number of sites all play a part, but size matters most. You can compare the options in our campaign planner (in Spanish). Renting an 8x3 m billboard for two weeks usually costs between €156 and €192 (€78 to €96 a week). On the busiest roads it reaches €600 per two-week period. Always factor in printing and posting. A paper poster starts at €100; for longer campaigns, lightweight PVC can reach €400. For more detail, our blog works through what a billboard really costs (in Spanish), with real prices and every factor that shapes the budget.

How far ahead should I book my campaign?

In outdoor advertising, it’s first come, first served. Once someone books an advertising site for a date, that site is blocked for that date and cannot be sold to anyone else. So with more demand comes less chance of getting exactly the site you want. Our advice: have the campaign booked two months before it starts. For big dates such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Black Friday or Christmas, we recommend sorting it out 4 to 6 months in advance. Billboards have one more catch. If a panel is tied up in a long-term contract, you are unlikely to get it. With a little flexibility on locations, though, finding the right billboard (and an available one) is rarely difficult.

Who takes care of printing the design, and what does it cost?

Leave it all to us. Pick your sites in the campaign planner (in Spanish), click ‘Siguiente’ (Next) and you’ll see the price of printing and posting the posters. With billboards, as mentioned above, that figure depends heavily on the material. A billboard that stays up for two or four weeks goes up on paper, which costs €80 to €100. For a six-month booking, the poster has to be printed on lightweight PVC (similar to the PVC used for building wraps) or vinyl, and then the cost can be closer to €400. Some jobs cost more still. When putting the poster up means hiring a crane, the price can go up further.

What is the deadline for sending (or uploading) the design?

As early as you can, so the printer has time to check it and confirm that everything is fine. In principle, the deadline for sending the design is 15 days before the campaign starts. That’s why the norm is to book months ahead and finalise the artwork as the date approaches. If your campaign needs a tighter turnaround, just ask. We will look at your case and tell you whether the design can come in a little later.

Do I need council permission to put an outdoor advertising campaign up in the street?

No, you don’t. The billboards on offer come from a public concession. Provided the standard restrictions are met (no ads for alcohol or tobacco, and nothing obscene…), there is nothing to clear with the council. In essence, the council grants these spaces to companies so they can market them and advertisers can get their ads and their message in front of the public.

Can I book single billboards, or is there a minimum?

You can book them one at a time or as a network, whichever suits your campaign: there is no minimum order. For an SME, the usual approach is to group several billboards in one area to strengthen coverage. But if only one particular spot matters to you, a single billboard can be booked too. In the campaign planner you choose exactly the billboards you want and see the price before you book.

What affects the price of a billboard?

Five things, mainly. The city, the exact location (how much traffic goes past), the size of the billboard and the length of the campaign, which is booked in two-week periods. Then there is the print material, which changes with the number of weeks it stays up. That is why a billboard on a busy road into town costs more than one on a minor road. You can find the guide price for each city on its locations page.
