Outdoor advertising sites in the Canary Islands
We have nearly 700 outdoor advertising sites spread across the Canary Islands: bus shelters, MUPI street panels, billboards, digital screens, building wraps and street thermometers, with the highest density in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Telde and Puerto del Rosario. Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE) puts the archipelago’s population at 2,272,734 on 1 January 2026, with a large share of those people, and of its commercial activity, concentrated around its two provincial capitals. The Canary Islands economy rests on services and, above all, on tourism, which contributed around 37% of regional GDP in 2024 according to the Impactur study of tourism’s economic impact. Add to that the logistics role of the Port of La Luz and Las Palmas, one of Spain’s main ports, and of Gran Canaria Airport, and the main urban avenues and motorway approaches become high-traffic locations for advertisers.
Coverage is unevenly spread across the islands. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria holds the bulk of the inventory, with bus shelter and MUPI networks along main roads such as Avenida de Mesa y López, Calle León y Castillo, Paseo de Chil and Avenida Marítima, plus digital screens around Parque Santa Catalina. Telde, the second-largest municipality on Gran Canaria and home to the El Goro business park, builds its inventory around billboards along the GC-1 motorway and Avenida del Cabildo. On Fuerteventura, Puerto del Rosario has billboards, MUPIs and street thermometers on its approach roads and in the town centre. With Marco Visual you can combine these formats in a single campaign, tailored by island, municipality and road type.
The islands’ festive calendar opens up very distinct commercial windows. The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival, officially listed as a Festival of International Tourist Interest, fills the city from late January to early March and multiplies footfall around Parque Santa Catalina. In June, the San Juan festivities coincide with the anniversary of the capital’s founding, and in September the Fiestas del Pino (the festival of Gran Canaria’s patron saint) draw thousands of people to Teror. The Puerto del Rosario Carnival and Canary Islands Day (Día de Canarias) on 30 May round off a calendar in which outdoor advertising gains visibility at street level.
In our campaign planner you can check the price of MUPIs and every other advertising site, real photos, the exact location, Google Street View, descriptions and nearby points of interest, dimensions, print format… Best of all, you can filter the sites and pick the ones you want, then plan and book the outdoor advertising campaign

Marco Visual is an online platform for managing and booking campaigns on outdoor advertising sites. Our website gives you all the information you need to plan and book an outdoor campaign. Get to know each site and its features: price, real photos, format, minimum booking period and other terms.
Outdoor sites are ideal for promoting events, with room on the ad for the venue, who is taking part and every other detail that matters. They are also widely used for branding, so that people start seeing a brand away from the screen and remember it better. Other common uses are launching offers (Black Friday, the sales, Christmas…) and opening new shops.
Here are some of our campaigns on different outdoor advertising sites:

The benefits of outdoor advertising in the Canary Islands
Outdoor advertising fits the Canary Islands particularly well because of the way people get around. The archipelago has over 2.2 million residents who rely on the car and public transport for their daily journeys between municipalities, so your brand is seen again and again on city avenues, at bus stops and on motorway approaches. On top of that resident base come tourist numbers that support a large share of the region’s jobs and consumer spending. The result is a broad, steady audience that mixes locals with average purchasing power and visitors whose average daily spend is rising, a combination you rarely find in other regions.
Outdoor gives a local business continuous presence at a competitive cost per impact compared with digital-only advertising. A bus shelter on a shopping street in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria or a MUPI near a health centre works round the clock, and nobody can skip it the way they skip an ad on a screen. It is a very good fit for retail and shopping centres, car dealerships and garages, clinics and opticians, tuition centres and language schools, hospitality and estate agents, all sectors with a strong presence in the islands’ economy. We usually advise backing up outdoor with social media or local radio: the street builds awareness and digital closes the conversion.
Island seasonality lets you fine-tune your timing. Carnival draws crowds in February; summer and the local patron saint festivities liven up the coastal towns; and campaigns such as back-to-school and Black Friday each have their own window. With Marco Visual you can plan networks in two-week periods, choose specific municipalities and mix static formats with digital screens where available. That way you match your spend to the season and the audience you want to reach, without paying for coverage you don’t need.
In your marketing and communications strategy, outdoor advertising sites are essential for reaching your audience. They are an excellent way to catch the eye of people out and about in town, thanks to well-chosen locations and high visibility.

Outdoor advertising in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

- Population: 381,868 inhabitants, according to INE 2025 data
- Gender split: roughly 52% women and 48% men
- Average age: around 44
- Purchasing power: average, with an economy based on services, retail, the port and tourism
- Economic activity rate: the majority of residents, with a strong presence in services, public administration and port activity
- Relevance for advertising: the archipelago’s commercial capital, with city corridors that carry heavy footfall and road traffic all year round
The most populous city in the Canary Islands and the ninth largest in Spain, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has a 2025 population of 381,868, as recorded by Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE). As the island and provincial capital, it anchors a metropolitan area of more than half a million people together with Telde, Arucas and Santa Brígida. Its economy revolves around services, the Port of La Luz and Las Palmas, the university and a growing cluster of tech companies. The city stretches out in a ribbon along the coast, with Avenida Marítima as its main artery, and one of its busiest periods comes during Carnival, officially a Festival of International Tourist Interest, which runs from late January to early March.
Most of the region’s inventory is concentrated here, above all bus shelters and MUPIs. The main locations are spread along Avenida de Mesa y López, Calle Rafael Cabrera opposite the theatre, Paseo de Tomás Morales next to Parque Doramas, Avenida Juan XXIII, Paseo de Chil and Avenida Alcalde Ramírez Bethencourt. There are bus shelters in Parque Santa Catalina and on Carretera General del Norte, and digital screens around Calle Presidente Alvear and Calle Olof Palme. We also have billboards on routes into the city such as El Sebadal, the Guanarteme neighbourhood and the ring road, near landmarks such as the Hipercor hypermarket and the Las Arenas shopping centre.
Bus shelters in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
The most widespread format in the capital, bus shelters work particularly well along shopping and office corridors, where they catch pedestrians and people waiting for public transport. They deliver repeat exposure on everyday journeys and tie your brand to a specific part of the city.
Prime locations include Avenida de Mesa y López, Calle Rafael Cabrera opposite the theatre, Avenida 1º de Mayo in the centre, Calle Sierra Nevada next to the former Military Hospital, Avenida Felo Monzón near Hipercor and Carretera General del Norte by the La Ballena shopping centre. There are also bus shelters in Parque Santa Catalina and on Calle Pedro Infinito, next to Avenida de Escaleritas.
MUPIs in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
The MUPI street panel offers a portrait format at street level, ideal for messages built on a strong image and seen up close by passers-by. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria it is useful for shops, services and local campaigns in densely populated neighbourhoods.
Here the main MUPI sites are on Avenida Alcalde Ramírez Bethencourt near Avenida Juan XXIII, Calle José Franchy y Roca in Guanarteme, Paseo de Tomás Morales next to Parque Doramas, Calle Presidente Alvear, Avenida de Mesa y López at Plaza San Juan Bautista and Avenida Juan XXIII next to the health centre. There are also MUPIs on Avenida Felo Monzón and Paseo de Madrid.
Billboards in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Billboards target road traffic and the heavy flows into and out of the city. They are the right choice for brands that want broad coverage and awareness on approach roads, roundabouts and dual carriageways.
Notable locations include Paseo de Chil next to Barranquillo Don Zoilo, the Tamaraceite retail area opposite the Los Alisios shopping centre, the corner of Calle República Dominicana and Calle Viriato, the Las Mesas roundabout, the main entrance to El Sebadal and the stretch of Mesa y López that runs down to the Las Arenas shopping centre, in Guanarteme.
Digital screens in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Digital screens rotate several ads in the same location and let you change the message by time of day. They work well for promotions, launches and time-sensitive campaigns in central and leisure areas.
Our main screens are in Parque Santa Catalina next to Calle Nicolás Estevánez, on Calle Presidente Alvear at the corner of Calle Juan Manuel Durán, on Calle Olof Palme near Plaza de España and Avenida de Mesa y López, and in the Fernando Guanarteme neighbourhood.
Street thermometers in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Street thermometers combine a temperature reading with your message and catch the eye of pedestrians and drivers at busy junctions. They bring a different kind of site into a city network.
You will find them at locations such as Calle Guanarteme at the corner of Calle Tomás Miller, Avenida de Escaleritas, Avenida Marítima by Parque Romano, Calle Bravo Murillo at the corner of Calle Ingeniero León y Castillo, and Plaza del Pino, right in the centre.
Building wraps in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Large-format building wraps offer a generous surface area for high-impact messages, usually on the façades and rear walls of landmark buildings. They are a one-off option for campaigns that want a standout presence in one specific area.
In the capital there are building wraps around San Cristóbal and on Calle Juan Manuel Durán, on the back of the El Corte Inglés department store, both in highly visible parts of the city centre.
Outdoor advertising in Telde

- Population: 102,867 inhabitants, according to INE 2024 data
- Gender split: roughly 50% women and 50% men
- Average age: around 42
- Purchasing power: average, with an economy based on industry, logistics, retail and services
- Economic activity rate: high, with a strong presence in industry, transport and distribution linked to El Goro
- Relevance for advertising: a municipality crossed by the GC-1, with billboards that effectively reach traffic between the capital and the south of the island
With 102,867 inhabitants, Telde is the second-largest municipality on Gran Canaria and has a strong industrial and logistics character. It is home to the El Goro business park, one of the largest industrial areas in the archipelago, with nearly 450 companies located midway between Gran Canaria Airport, the Port of Las Palmas and the capital. Its old town, around the church of San Juan Bautista, sits alongside populous neighbourhoods such as Jinámar and growing areas by the coast. Day-to-day activity generates heavy traffic on the GC-1 motorway and Avenida del Cabildo, the municipality’s main arteries.
In Telde the inventory relies above all on billboards on approach roads and dual carriageways, backed up by MUPIs and street thermometers in the town centre. The main locations are the Tamaraceite retail area opposite the Los Alisios shopping centre, the exit from Avenida del Cabildo onto the motorway, the Jinámar ravine towards the Las Terrazas shopping centre, the roundabout at the Alcampo shopping centre next to Leroy Merlin and the GC-1 exit towards El Calero. MUPIs can be found along Avenida del Cabildo by the Arnao residential estate and at the Melenara roundabout, and the thermometers stand in Plaza de San Gregorio and at several roundabouts on Avenida del Cabildo.
Billboards in Telde
In Telde, billboards are the dominant format because they reach the road traffic moving between Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the south of the island. They suit brands looking for broad coverage on approach roads and in busy shopping areas.
Among the standout locations are the Tamaraceite retail area opposite the Los Alisios shopping centre, the exit from Avenida del Cabildo onto the motorway, the Jinámar ravine towards the Las Terrazas shopping centre, the roundabout at the Alcampo shopping centre next to Leroy Merlin, the entrance to Las Huesas from the Las Palmas-Sur motorway and the GC-1 exit towards El Calero.
MUPIs in Telde
The MUPI brings your message close to people on foot in the town centre and on the main roads into Telde, in an eye-level, street-side format. It is useful for neighbourhood shops and local services.
In Telde, the main MUPI sites are on Avenida del Cabildo next to the Arnao residential estate, on the downhill stretch of Avenida del Cabildo near the Auditorium car park, next to Parque de San Juan, at the Melenara roundabout and in the Las Remudas area. There are also MUPIs at the north entrance to the La Mareta retail area.
Street thermometers in Telde
Street thermometers add a different kind of advertising site at the municipality’s main junctions and roundabouts, where they pair useful information with your advertising message.
They stand in Plaza de San Gregorio, on Calle Poeta Fernando González at the corner of Avenida del Cabildo, on Avenida del Cabildo Insular at the entrance to Las Remudas and at several roundabouts on Avenida del Cabildo, one of them opposite the Casa de la Cultura arts centre.

- Purchasing power: average, with an economy based on services, public administration, retail and tourism

- Relevance for advertising: the only large urban centre on Fuerteventura, and a gateway that residents and visitors arriving via the port and the airport all pass through
Puerto del Rosario is the capital of Fuerteventura and its main urban, administrative and commercial centre; Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE) counted 46,150 inhabitants there in 2025. Measured by the average age of its population, it is one of the youngest municipalities in the Canary Islands, and it is growing steadily thanks to tourism and the arrival of new residents. Traffic is channelled along Avenida de la Constitución, Avenida 1º de Mayo and Avenida Marítima, as well as the ring road that links up with the road to Antigua.
Here the inventory combines billboards on the approach roads with street thermometers and MUPIs in the centre. The main locations are on the road out towards the ring road and Antigua, the main entrance from the ring road, the exit towards the airport, Calle Secundino Alonso next to the town planning office, and Avenida Marítima at the corner of Calle García Escámez on the way to the quay. The thermometers stand on Avenida de la Constitución, on Avenida 1º de Mayo next to the island council (Cabildo) building and on Avenida Reyes de España, while the MUPIs are spread around the Reloj Solar (sundial) roundabout and Avenida Juan de Bethencourt.
Billboards in Puerto del Rosario
Puerto del Rosario’s inventory is dominated by billboards, which cover the approach roads into the town, used both by residents and by visitors arriving on the island. They are the right choice for campaigns that aim for broad coverage on Fuerteventura.
Highlights include the road out towards the ring road and Antigua, the main entrance from the ring road, the exit towards the airport, the corner of Calle Secundino Alonso and Calle Miño, the corner of Calle María Estrada and Calle Libertad, and Avenida Marítima at Calle García Escámez, on the way to the quay.
Street thermometers in Puerto del Rosario

They are located at the second roundabout by the sundial monument, on the way into and out of the town, on Avenida de la Constitución at the Las Culonas roundabout, on Avenida 1º de Mayo next to the island council building and at the junction with Avenida Manuel Velázquez Cabrera, and on Avenida Reyes de España at the junction with Carretera de Los Pozos.
MUPIs in Puerto del Rosario

Our main locations here are the Reloj Solar roundabout, the road to Antigua, Avenida de la Constitución next to the Cruz Roja building and Avenida Juan de Bethencourt at the corner of Calle Sevilla.
How booking outdoor advertising with Marco Visual works
Tell us what you’re looking for
If you’d rather choose yourself, our campaign planner (in Spanish) lets you pick the weeks and then browse the map or the list of sites, with filters by type of site, city, postcode or distance to a shop or point of interest. Bear in mind the booking cycles: many sites are sold by the week, but most 8x3 m billboards are booked in two-week periods or for 26 weeks, so they’re greyed out if you pick a single week. Click ‘Siguiente’ (Next) and you’ll see a campaign summary with the total price, printing and posting included: we take care of everything. You just enter your contact details and create the campaign.
Either way, you get a unique link to your campaign page, which you can share with your team: the sites you picked, the weeks, the price and the guides for preparing your artwork. You can check it whenever you like.
We confirm availability so you can book online
When everything is cleared, you can enter your billing details on that same page, pay by bank transfer and upload your artwork. Once you’ve paid, upload the transfer receipt so we can confirm the booking sooner.
Remember to send your artwork, following the guides, before the deadline shown on the proposal (usually 7 days before the start). We’ll email you at every step: artwork received and approved, payment received, sites confirmed.
Printing, posting and launch
These photos are usually ready 24 to 48 hours after the start; we’ll email you when they are.
When the campaign ends, you’ll see a notice on the campaign page and receive a satisfaction survey, with the option of leaving us a Google review. It helps us do better.
Frequently asked questions about outdoor advertising in the Canary Islands
How much does an outdoor advertising campaign in the Canary Islands cost?
To give you an idea, a two-week bus shelter or MUPI campaign in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria costs around €252, depending on the number of faces and the area. Prices for billboards and digital formats vary with location and duration. The most practical approach is to ask us for a proposal based on your objective and budget, and fine-tune the network from there. For billboards in the Canary Islands the reference price is €155 per face per week (so €310 per two-week period), excluding VAT and poster printing, which we quote separately; they are booked by the fortnight (2 weeks, 14 days).
Which formats work best for a local business in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria?
Local businesses in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria usually get the best results from bus shelters and MUPIs, because they reach pedestrians on shopping streets such as Avenida de Mesa y López and Calle León y Castillo. If you are after broad awareness or want to reach drivers, billboards on approach roads and roundabouts complement the network well. The choice depends on whether your audience walks or drives.
How many advertising sites does Marco Visual have in the Canary Islands?
Marco Visual has nearly 700 outdoor advertising sites in the Canary Islands, mostly in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Telde and Puerto del Rosario. The inventory includes bus shelters, MUPIs, billboards, street thermometers, digital screens and building wraps. The exact number changes over time, so it is best to check current availability when you plan your campaign.
What is the minimum campaign length?
The usual minimum is a fortnight (two weeks), for bus shelters and MUPIs as well as for billboards. It is the most common booking period in outdoor advertising and gives you time to build up enough impacts. For longer campaigns you can run several consecutive fortnights and combine municipalities and formats.
Which areas of the Canary Islands get the most footfall and road traffic?
Footfall is highest in central Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, on main roads such as Avenida de Mesa y López and Calle León y Castillo, and around Parque Santa Catalina. The heaviest road traffic runs along the GC-1 motorway, which links the capital with Telde and the south of Gran Canaria, and on the approach roads into Puerto del Rosario on Fuerteventura.
Do you have digital sites or only static ones?
We have both kinds. In the Canary Islands there are digital screens in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in central areas such as Parque Santa Catalina and around Calle Presidente Alvear, as well as a large network of static advertising sites such as bus shelters, MUPIs and billboards. Digital lets you rotate messages and change them by time of day; static gives you continuous presence.
What happens after I ask for a proposal?
The process starts when you tell us your objective, your budget and the municipalities you are interested in. From there we prepare a proposal with specific sites, dates and prices. Once you approve it, the network is booked, you send us the creative or commission its design, and posting is scheduled for the agreed dates.
Can you help with the creative design?
Yes, we can guide you on the creative design so that it suits each format. Every advertising site has its own dimensions and viewing distance, so an ad that works on a billboard will not work the same way on a bus shelter. We give you the technical specifications and check the artwork before printing to make sure the quality is right.
Is outdoor advertising worth it compared with going digital-only in the Canary Islands?
Yes, especially in the Canary Islands, where people travel a lot between municipalities by car and public transport. Outdoor advertising builds brand awareness continuously and at a competitive cost per impact, without relying on algorithms, and nobody can skip it. The usual approach is to combine it with digital campaigns: the street builds recall and digital closes the conversion.
When is the best time of year to advertise in the Canary Islands?
The January and February carnivals, especially the one in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, bring big crowds onto the streets and are an excellent window. Summer and the local patron saint festivities liven up the coastal towns, while campaigns such as back-to-school and Black Friday have their own slot. As the climate is mild all year round, outdoor stays clearly visible whatever the season.
